A camera caught former police officer Richard Schoen punching citizen Jeanine Tracy. It showed him punch her in the face, drag her from the squad car in which she was handcuffed, and knee her in the stomach. According to an in depth report by the Journal Sentinel, police officers with the Milwaukee police department are less likely to face criminal charges than the people they are tasked with serving and protecting. Despite some people within the communities arguing to the contrary, recent reports state crime in the city has seen a fairly significant decrease in the past year. Violent crime, in particular, is reportedly down 40.2% from last year at this time.
